Transfer Scholarships

Scholarships specifically for transfer students. 

This scholarship $5,000 award is available to students looking to transfer from a two-year college to a four-year institution to complete their degree in accounting or an accounting-related field. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. You can find more details and apply here.

Bridgewater State University now offers several new merit scholarships to qualified transfer students. You will automatically be considered for a merit scholarship during the admission evaluation process. Eligibility for merit scholarships is based on your recalculated cumulative GPA from all previous college transcripts. Find out more here.

This scholarship is students who earn an associate’s degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 by the time they matriculate at Emerson. The amount of the Next Step Emerson Scholarship is $30,000 annually. Find out more here.

The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for the nation’s top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities. Each Cooke Scholar has access to generous financial support for two to three years, college planning support, ongoing advising, and the opportunity to connect with the thriving community of fellow Scholars.  

This award can provide as much as $55,000 per year!
MCC students have received this award before.

Eligibility:
Be a new transfer student
GPA of 3.5 or above
Demonstrate financial need
Open to any area of study.
Many participate in Honors and/or leadership.

Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies recognizes the investment made by students in partner institutions through the Community College Scholarship. New, incoming students with an associate degree earned from one of these partner community colleges may be eligible for a scholarship up to $8,000. A FAFSA may need to be submitted. Scholarships worth up to $15,000 are awarded to deserving students from New England who have been admitted into one of the 11 qualifying Bachelor's Completion programs.  To be eligible for the award, students must obtain a 2.0 GPA or higher. The Biotech A2M Scholars Program is an accelerated pathway for students from their associate to their master’s degree in biotechnology. A FAFSA may need to be submitted. Students must be a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) to be considered for these scholarships. The UMASS BOSTON Foster Furcolo Scholarship was established to honor Foster Furcolo who served as governor of Massachusetts from 1957 to 1960. He was instrumental in the creation of the system of public community colleges in the Commonwealth. This is a two-year scholarship covering tuition and most mandatory fees to one graduate of each public community college in Massachusetts. The student must be starting their first semester as a full time student at UMass Boston in fall 2024. The student must graduate from MCC in May 2024. Application is due on April 20, 2024.

The Transfer Merit Scholarship is for new transfer students at UMass Boston. It is potentially renewable for students who maintain good standing. The award ranges from $500 to $2,000 per semester. Eligibility: New transfer students.

Awarded to newly entering UMass Boston students who are returning to college after an interruption in study of five years. This five-year time frame need not be consecutive. Osher Reentry Scholars will receive up to a $5,000.00 per year scholarship. The scholarship is potentially renewable. Eligibility: Resuming college after a gap of approximately five years. This gap need not be consecutive. You may have stopped in and out of school but should have a total of five years away from higher education and be eager to complete your degree at UMass Boston now. Completing a first bachelor's degree. Not open to students enrolling in fully online degree programs. Looking forward to a significant number of years in the work force after graduation.
